As y’all know, I answer your questions every single week on my Facebook page. We talk about, life, business, Netflix… You name it, we go there! Last week, Adrienne asked: “I’m curious how you balance starting a new business, investing in it, yet still making a profit?” As I told Adrienne, I have started multiple businesses, so I know the best approach you can make is this: take.your.time. If you think you are going to make enough money to put in your pocket AND grow your business, you will be wildly disappointed, buttercup. ![]() When starting a new business, you are probably doing so because you are passionate about what you do. I have learned that the most important thing you can do when monetizing what you love, is: >>Do not put *pressure* on your PASSION.<<So, what do I recommend when starting a business? Friend, for the first 2 years:
I *love* the side hustlers because they are driven, motivated, and dedicated. >>Boo, there is NOTHING wrong with funding your passion with your paycheck until your business takes off.<< I did it for years until my wedding photography business became successful, again when I created online courses, and again when I started Social Curator! Just keep hustling toward your goal, and you’re going in the right direction. via RSSMix.com Mix ID 8230553 https://ift.tt/319L6f4

I’ve been a vegetarian since I was 11 years old. Recently, I started having stomach issues, so I saw a naturopath and she told me that it was time to start introducing more Omega-3’s back into my diet. To be real with you, when I got the news from my doctor that I needed to make some major lifestyle changes, it honestly sucked. >>For years, I was prioritizing my business but now it is time to prioritize my head, my heart, and my body.<< Friend, I don’t share my journey because I think eating fish is cool, I share my journey because if I can save someone time to avoid making the same mistakes I did. >>But then I decided to give myself grace and say: Jasmine, given the circumstances you have been given, you are doing the best you can.<< *What, you don’t talk to yourself like that?? Psshhh* ![]() I decided to be “UNNECESSARILY GENEROUS” with myself without having a justifiable reason. I made the choice to remove toxic thoughts from my mind, and say:
>>When we focus on the good things in life, that is the ultimate form of self care.<< Maybe being radically kind to yourself has nothing to do with eating fish. But friend, I ask you: Are you willing to make lifestyle changes to get you to where you want to go? Be unnecessarily generous with your time, body, mind, and energy and be fully committed to loving it… Just like me with my first fish taco in 20 years. *See below! ;)* via RSSMix.com Mix ID 8230553 https://ift.tt/2LucHRt My Facebook Live Studio

When I was first starting with Facebook live, I would put out a call for questions and no one would ask them. Yep, *crickets*. It was a little awkward. But instead of wallowing in my sadness and not going live, I would start answering questions I *thought* my ideal client might be wondering but hasn’t asked yet. This empowered me in two big ways:
![]() Now that I’ve been going live every week for over a year, more of my community engages with my content. >>I ask my audience for their questions in a post the day before I go live, and decide which ones to answer by how many people “like” their comment.<< From simply propping my phone up on the window in my kitchen and answering questions from a sticky note, my Facebook Live studio has changed a LOT over the past couple of years. In the video below, I show you how I now use WireCast to make my videos more visually appealing and drive the conversation with pre-written slides. With WireCast, I can shift back and forth from my face speaking to you live, and slides to demonstrate my points! After I’m finished with my Facebook live video, I do two things right away:
>>This helps with encouraging people to watch the video because they know what they can expect.<< So friend, that was a look into my Facebook Live studio! If you get nothing else out of this post, I hope you take away three main points:
