I often hear entrepreneurs not posting because they are worried about not getting likes or wonder what people will say about their content… And I’m like, STOP THINKING + START DOING.
>>My hope for this post is to inspire you to never run out of ideas, save you TIME, and give you a well of content that allows you to talk ABOUT your business without directly SELLING your business.<< Let’s dive in! To plan out your Instagram posts, we talk about “categories” a lot when it comes to content creation in the Social Curator Community. It is recommended that you come up with 9-12 categories for your account. To keep it simple, Social Curator categories are the same every month. *Remember, these are to be used as a guide and reference point, so you can modify them so they best fit your brand/business/personality!* The Social Curator categories are:
In addition to these 7 caption categories, we often suggest mapping out photo categories for your brand as well–photos that showcase your life to pair with these captions. There is no “right or wrong,” but as an example here are my photo topics:
Now we have 7 caption categories and 7 photos that our audience can expect to see from us. From here, we can simply:

If you have followed me for awhile, you know I am obsessed with using video to market my business. *And if you haven’t been here for awhile, good to see you homie!* I use all different kinds of videos for my business—IGTV, Facebook Live, Instagram Live, YouTube, Instagram Stories, and Facebook videos. If it exists, I’m doing it! Why? >>I am dedicated to diversifying my marketing efforts to reach as many of my potential customers as I can.<< The truth is, everyone has their preferred way of consuming content, and I believe I am doing a disservice if I do not give my audience content in all different ways. Now, you might be asking, “Jasmine, I want to create videos but how do I know what people want to see?” I gotchu boo! Let’s talk about 3 ways you can find video ideas. 1. Frequently Asked Questions: What are people (AKA your customers and followers) asking you a lot? Those FAQ’s are great video topics. If you do not have any customers yet, that’s okay boo boo! Look at YouTube channels of other people in your industry that are much more advanced, and read the comments of their posts and see what questions they are asking. These people are probably your ideal client too! 2. What You Wish You Knew: When you first started, what were the questions you had? The longer you’re in your industry the more elevated your education comes. You have to remember your customers don’t know as much as you do, so by asking yourself what you wish you knew “back then” actually puts you in the shoes of your future customer. 3. Amazon Reviews: Did you know you can find the best ideas for content when you search on Amazon for a book that is related to the product you’re selling? Read 3 star reviews of people who have an opinion that will comment on what they wished was in the book. Or they’ll say they love that section about X, maybe you can make a video on that! >>Friend, your objective as strong entrepreneur and visionary should be creating content for a small group of people that turns them from a passive follower to a raving fan.<<
Invite people into your world by creating content that they want to see by answering frequently asked questions and telling them what you wish you knew when you first started out. And if you’re stuck, head on over to the Amazon reviews of similar products to yours and get ideas there! The most important thing you can do is show. up. I can’t wait to watch your videos and smash the like button to show my support! xo, j* via RSSMix.com Mix ID 8230553 https://ift.tt/2YL5Lbm You just launched a revolutionary product product and you can’t wait for the sales to start rolling in. Or maybe you released a new service that no one else in your area is offering, and you’re so excited for your audience to see it. You post, you pray, and what happens? *CRICKETS* *I’m sorry boo, I’ve been there and I understand your frustration.* When I first launched Social Curator, there was NOTHING like it in the market. I was paving a new path, launching something unheard of, and I had no one to look up to. >>Making my way through uncharted waters also meant that my audience needed to be educated on what I was selling.<< You see friend, when it comes to creating demand for a new product or service *heck, it doesn’t even have to be new, it might just be something old with a new spin on it*: Education is key. So how do we educate our audience? We do it through emphasizing pain and pleasure. People ALWAYS buy from pain or pleasure. This means that you are either positioning your product or service as the thing that solves their problem or the vehicle to get what they want. To demonstrate my point, let’s look at two examples for both service and product-based business, shall we? *Here we go, boo boo!* Branding PhotographyPain: Do you want more business? Business owners always want more business so this is a great way to speak to your ideal client’s deep desire. When asking them if they want more business, you are highlighting their pain, which you can then follow up with agitating, validating, and solving it. Pleasure: Imagine becoming an industry authority… In order to build demand for branding photography, sell the aspiration of someone who would want or need to be an industry authority. To become an industry authority, you need people to know like and trust you and you do that with professional photography. Skincare ProductPain: Do you want smoother, younger-looking skin? Drawing attention to smoother, younger-looking skin reminds your ideal customer of their insecurities around their skin. Now, you are perfectly positioned to help them solve that problem! Pleasure: How would you feel if you looked 10 years younger? This paints a picture that anyone would love: beauty. Having your audience envision this younger version of themselves allows your business to step in and make it come true with your product. Do you see how this marketing technique would make your ideal client JUMP at the opportunity to work with you or buy your product? >>Your ideal client is waiting for their problem to be solved or their dreams to come true and your business has to be the guide to get them there.<< If you have thoughts, questions, or comments, I would love to connect with you buttercup. Drop them in the comments below this post! Let’s take the pain out of doing business alone and put the pleasure in it by filling our cup with connections. via RSSMix.com Mix ID 8230553 https://ift.tt/33mF2l1 There are a lot of members in Social Curator who are coaches—from business to life, health to family—we have them all. (And we LOVE them all!) Recently, I was chatting with a Curator in the coaching profession that just launched her business and she wasn’t sure how to get people in the door. She was toying with the idea of offering free discovery sessions—a 15 minute coaching call for them to get a taste of her style. But I told her: >>If they’re getting even 15 minutes of your time for free, why would they pay for 60?!<< She pushed back, which I love because I like to have REAL business conversations, you know what I’m sayin’? She said: “But I need testimonials to get paying clients, and I don’t know how to get them when just starting out unless I offer free sessions.” And friend, I *totally* understood where she was coming from. It’s hard to build up a coaching business, especially if you’re in a niche market like many Curators. >>The smaller your market gets, the more lucrative it is but the longer the conversion will take.<< So how do you get new clients? There are two main ways I recommend coaches land their first paid sessions: 1. Start a beta group.Nope, not for free boo boo, but a DISCOUNTED rate for a limited time in exchange for a testimonial you can use later. Beta groups can be as small as 1 person or as large as 50. *There are no rules!* Read my blog post to get the 4-1-1 on beta testing, if you think this is the route for you! 2. Play the long game.Hear me out before you hop off this post, buttercup! Sometimes, your ideal client isn’t ready to invest in your coaching YET. Why? Because they don’t trust you yet, and trust takes time to develop with your audience. My recommendation when starting a new business is to ask yourself what your clients are looking for and serve, serve, serve them with free content that positions you as an authority. >>If you get the same five questions all the time in your DM’s, create resources your they can download for free, funnel the lead to your email list, nurture them all along with free content, and when they’re ready to invest in a coach, you’ll be the no-brainer for them.<< Remember: most business don’t begin to profit until 2-3 years in. You need to play the long game if you want to have a sustainable business that is not a flash in the pan but a long, slow burn for years to come.
