How to Have a Successful Launch
3/31/2021
Picture this:
As much as you appreciate the support from loved ones, you crave the attention of your dream client. *Oh sweet friend, I have been there.* But the good news is that this doesn’t need to be YOUR reality. Can I give you my secret weapon? I want to give you my launch strategy. *You read that right! I am spilling allllll the tea.* Over the years, I have developed a system that never fails and always delivers stellar results. *every. single. time.* >>This promotional plan is the key to having your most successful launch. Ever.<< But don’t take my word for it! Put it to the test, and get that money, hunnayyy! The Consistency CaveatBefore we dive in to all of the details, I need you to do one thing for me: >>I need you to commit to showing up consistently.<< I promise you, this is the most crucial component of the process. Showing up consistently with valuable content is what will push your launch over the top. Are you in? *Good, I knew I liked you!* Before PromotionFirst things first, establish a timeline. You’ll need to pick the date of your launch and then reverse engineer your strategy by working backwards. >>I recommend a three-month lead time, but it can be adapted to fit your schedule.<< For two months straight, do not pitch a dang thing. All I want you to do is give, give, give, and then give some more.
>>By doing this, you are positioning yourself as the go-to authority in your industry.<< You will show that you not only talk the talk, but also walk the walk, and you give your audience the tools and resources they need to follow in your footsteps. During PromotionIn the last 4 weeks leading up to launch, you get to work your magic! Each week has its own step:
In the first week, you will warm up your audience by reminding followers who you are. Introduce yourself, share the journey that got you to where you are, and let your personality shine. Continue to show your expertise and give freely of your knowledge. Next, acknowledge a pressure point they face and let them know you have been there, too. This puts you in a position to appease their concerns and nurture their interest. Then, after you have put in allllllll that work, you can finally promote your services. In the third week, you’ll be an educational conduit. Offer a free online class, host a challenge, or do a series of Live videos and present your offer. Now, let’s not get it twisted, friend. You don’t want to lead with how great you are and then ask for a sale. >>Framework your promotion as an educational experience to build their trust in you.<< Finally, you’ll end with a deadline where the cart closes, bonuses expire, or discounts disappear. This will create a sense of urgency that encourages fast action. After PromotionOnce that deadline arrives, pop some bubbly and celebrate your success! Allow yourself to revel in the culmination of everything you have spent the last three months working towards…. Then put down your champagne flute and let the *real* work begin! >>Continue to serve well, show up consistently, and overdeliver on the promises you’ve made.<< Do you want more clarity on how to speak to your ideal client in a way that resonates and leads to sales? *I have just the thing, Buttercup!* This Ideal Client Workbook helps you think like your dream customer so you know how to serve them in the best way! You can download it >>HERE<< and start delivering up the content they need in the way they need it. Now you have all the tools you need to position yourself as an authority in preparation for your next launch! When I woke up this morning, discouragement greeted me. I have a big, audacious goal I’m working towards, but today it felt impossibly out of reach. Have you ever experienced the same thing when it comes to building your business? As I was complaining *I mean talking* to my husband about my doubts, he quickly held a mirror to my soul that put everything into perspective: >>“Jasmine, I heard on your podcast today that you get to choose the emotion that you want to associate with what you are experiencing.”<<
The truth is, friend, it may not have been what I wanted to hear, but it was exactly what I needed. How exactly can we choose to feel a different emotion?
Choose the emotion you want to feel. It’s as simple (and as difficult) as that. Free your brain from the shackles of a negative, toxic thought, and create space and pathways in your brain to get creative about the things you need to do. >>If the brain is holding onto toxic, negative thoughts, you won’t have the bandwidth to think of a solution.<<
If you are ready to reframe your situation into something positive, I created this Mindset Makeover Workbook just for you! You can download it >>HERE<< and begin taking control of your thoughts and emotions today! 3/24/2021
Last week I did something I have NEVER done before: I made a tutorial about Instagram Reels… and filmed it live! If you’re thinking that sounds crazy, you are absolutely right! We called it: A Reel in Real Time. *It was a stroke of genius!* Reels are all the rage and for good reason.
Yet, I see business owners shy away from creating Reels because they are unsure and overwhelmed of where to begin. >>My goal was simple: empower business owners to showcase their creativity by outlining the process and setting realistic expectations.<< Does that sound like a plan to you, Buttercup? Let’s dive in! PrepareYou know I love to plan ahead, and I do the same before I create Reels. Begin with choosing the song you want to showcase and write your own script. *Just keep in mind that you will be limited to 15 seconds if you want to share your Reel to Stories and business accounts do have more restrictions with music selections.* Once you’ve chosen a sound for your Reel, think about what transitions and points you need to make. You don’t have to have to have everything planned or written out before you press record, but I find it easier when I know what I want the end product to look like. >>My Reels follow the same HIC Formula of my captions: You’ll want to grab their attention within the first 3 seconds and hook them in to watching more. I follow that with insights, education, and tools that deliver on the initial promise made in the hook. Finally, I tie it up with a bow using a call to action that encourages the follower to engage with me and my content further. Once I have my plan created, I put it on a Post-it Note with:
*I know, I know. Nerd alert!* >>Preparing all of the details in advance allows me to batch create the videos and churn out content quickly.<< RecordOnce you are prepared, grab your phone, a tripod, your props, and, of course, your trusty Post-it Note! *But* the only two things you truly need are your phone and yourself. No tripod? No problem! You’ll want a stable place to set your phone and a table with a stack of books works just as well. Then, set up your phone, head to Instagram, select Reel, and program in your settings.
Now it’s go-time! When you press and hold record, you’ll have a 3-second countdown to get ready and in position. Then work your magic!
The beauty of recorded content is that you can simply delete the clip and try again, friend! >>Your comfort level will increase as you continue to create.<< EditReels are very visual (and many people scroll without their volume on) so you’ll want to add text to your clips. When you add text, simply pinch to adjust the size and drag to place it where you want it. Wonder how people get the text to appear and disappear? The timer feature allows you to adjust when the text is on screen! When you are finished, save it as a draft and download a copy to your camera roll just to be safe. You’ll have it in your back pocket to post whenever you need! And there you have it! If you are still a little leery, don’t worry Dreamer, I’ve got you covered! Grab my Instagram Reels Checklist and you’ll be creating content like a pro in no time! Download it >>HERE!<< Plus, if you’re a visual learner like I am, watch the video below to see the process from start to finish. 3/22/2021
My mom was 50 years old when she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. At the time, I was 25 years old, attending law school, and I had a profound wake-up call upon hearing the news. I thought to myself… If I have 25 years left of my life, what do I want to do with it? The truth was scary, but I knew more than anything…
When my mom was looking death in the eye, she did not look back at all the things she had done… She looked back at what she had NOT done. Feeling confused, overwhelmed, and unsure of myself, it was then that my newly-minted husband asked: >>“If you could do one thing for the rest of your life and be happy, what would it be?”<< I immediately knew the answer: I wanted to be a photographer. There were a few problems with this answer, starting with the fact that I didn’t have a camera or any photography know-how. But I did the dang thing anyway. With a lot of hard work (and the help of my husband), I went from not even owning a camera to becoming one of the world’s most socially influential photographers in just six years. Now friend, I don’t bring this up to #humblebrag. I bring this up as testament that you do not have to be:
…You have to just do the dang thing! That pull you feel in your heart to dream audacious dreams? Lean into it. Life is too short to do anything less than what sets your soul on fire. Feel the fear, but then shove it aside and continue on anyway. >>It takes just as much energy to come up with reasons why it won’t work as it does to come up with reasons why it will. The choice is yours.<< Are you ready to just do the dang thing? Get started with this Productivity Planner and organize your goals into simple steps that will make it easy to get to work. *Ahem, WERK!* Download it >>HERE<< and start chasing those dreams, Hustler! I’ll be cheering you on every step of the way. 3/19/2021
There’s an interesting thing that happens to people with big dreams. Success feels illusive, and if you’re lucky enough to have a slice of it, you think you don’t deserve it. *Oh, friend, I have been there and you probably have, too.* We call this not-so-lovely little feeling Imposter Syndrome. Symptoms include, but are not limited to, doubting yourself and wondering who you are to be the one doing what you want to do. But let me present an alternative perspective: >>Who are you to rob the world of something you have to offer?<< “But Jasmine, someone else is already doing what I want to do.” Great! Someone probably is, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for you at the table. No one can do what you do in the way that you do it. There’s power in that, Hustler! So, the question then becomes: How can I establish trust and expertise? To that, my answer is simple: Content. If you show up consistently, your feed becomes a portfolio establishing your expertise. >>Your content – and your consistency with it – create credibility.<<
Here are 3 content pillars to help you build out your content and turn followers into customers. #1: KnowSome transactions don’t require much of a personal connection. Take my pharmacist, for example. I don’t have to like him to pick up my prescriptions. But outside of that? Connection counts! >>People want to know about the person behind the product – and even more so if you offer a service!<< So introduce yourself, tell you who you are, what you do, and more importantly WHY you do it. Share behind-the-scenes insights of your workspace and process. This transparency will eliminate your fear of being considered a fraud. #2: LikeYour personality is the only truly unique thing you have. So lean into it! Share your humor, what motivates you, what you do on your days off, and your favorite hobbies. >>As you share what makes you “YOU”, you’ll find that’s exactly what draws people in.<< #3: TrustLast, but certainly not least, you will want to show that you do know what you claim to know. This doesn’t need to be boastful, but it can be informative. Provide value through education, free resources, and sharing your professional background or journey. >>As people see your past and present, they will trust that you can serve them in the future.<< Oh, and friend? One more thing… Don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle or end. >>Everyone starts somewhere, but if you never start, you can never gain momentum.<< So push pause on your doubts and take action.
But don’t let the idea of creating this content overwhelm you. It isn’t as difficult as you think, and I show how I break down projects and plan ahead in my Productivity Planner. You can download it >>HERE<< and get on the path to productivity and profitability. Here’s to making your dreams a reality, Buttercup! 3/17/2021
I am a huge believer in the power of positive thinking. Are you? I believe that what you think about, you bring about. Here are 3 things you need to stop saying today and how you can reframe them to set yourself up for success. #1. Who am I to start a business? —> I am capable of starting a business.Sweet soul, who are you NOT to start a business? There is someone out there who would love to know what you know! You owe it to them to do what you feel called to do. And you have every ability to make it a reality! >>Even if you are just starting on your business journey, you still have something of value to offer.<< Be a trailblazer and pave the way for others to follow in your wake. #2. Nobody is buying what I’m selling. —> How can I market it better? There is something valuable about what you offer, but 98% of the people who see it will say no. Does that mean you should stop showing up? *Of course not!* I have a mantra that I love to repeat when I’m feeling discouraged: “If not now, then soon.” >>People will keep an eye on what you create far before they ever whip out their wallets to pay for it.<< That’s simply human nature. So build new interest by showing up consistently in different ways and with a strategy. I promise it’s just a matter of time. And when they do hand over their credit card? Blow their dang minds! #3. I can’t come up with content. —> I give myself permission to test different ideas. What is the worst thing that can happen when you post content?
Bless and release those who leave. They weren’t your people. >>Every time you have an unfollow, it’s a GOOD thing. It means you will be seen by those who know, like, and trust you.<< No engagement? No problem! It’s all just data that you can use to know what resonates with your audience and what doesn’t, so you can create content in the future that connects. The key to being successful is not being glamorous. The content that resonates the most comes from those who are willing to show up as themselves. >>Release your fear of failure, because regardless of the reaction, you’ve already won.<< Now get out there and create that content, friend! Are you ready to commit to new beliefs and take ownership? I created a Mindset Makeover Workbook that will help you recognize your strengths and lean in to them while eliminating your limiting beliefs. You can download it >>HERE<< and begin changing the world (and your thoughts) today. The post 3 Business Beliefs to Change appeared first on Jasmine Star. via RSSMix.com Mix ID 8230553 https://ift.tt/3qPUPDe When I started my photography business over a decade ago, I was convinced that I would pick up a camera and people would start lining up in the street to work with me… I soon realized that running a business was a *little* more complicated than that. *OK, maybe a lot.* Even members of my church were turning down free sessions with me. >>I couldn’t even *give* my services away.<< Can you relate, friend?
You, sweet soul, are not alone. But with a little hustle and chutzpah, this girl from the hood grew those rejections into a six-figure business in her first year. Now I want to help you do the same. >>I’m sharing everything I know to help you turn those crickets into customers, too.<< Let me be your magic genie! Rub the lamp, make a wish, and let’s get clear on how you can level up your business! Get Clear With Who You Are
You simply need to be YOU. There is no idea, no product, no service that has not been offered before. Yet, originality is not what you lack, friend. You have it all within you. >>The only thing that can set you apart in the sea of social is your personality.<< That is the key to connecting with your ideal customer and creating relationships that convert. So let your personality shine! Get Clear With What You OfferWe live in a world where people care less about your accolades and more about how it affects them. If you are focusing on yourself and how you matter, no one will know why they should care. >>You need to turn your dialogue into one that emphasizes your value by focusing on how you serve.<< In the business world, this is known as being customer-centric. Everything you create should lead with:
Get Clear With Who You ServeWhen I first started in business, I wanted to work with everyone. *You have a credit card? You’re my customer!* I soon realized that by attempting to cast a wide net and appeal to everyone, I was actually leaving gaps that let them all slip through the cracks. It wasn’t until I decided who I wanted to serve and spoke directly to them that the inquiries came flooding in. >>When you speak to everyone, you speak to none. You get results when you speak to ONE.<< It’s as simple as that, Buttercup! When you know who you are, what you offer, and who you serve, the sales will come flooding in. If you are feeling like you need a little help figuring out these important details, I’ve got you! I created a FREE Nail Your Niche Workbook that will take you step by step through the process and give you the clarity you need to create genuine connections that lead to sales. Luxury portrait photographer Jai Mayhew has built her business around empathy. 3/12/2021
Have you seen a drop in your engagement on social media? You certainly aren’t alone, friend! In fact, the topic of engagement came up in a recent Facebook Live I hosted when someone said, “I would love to hear you talk about the overall drop in engagement on social and ideas on how to mix it up.” *Everyone – and I mean everyoneeee – longs for more engagement.* Now that you know there are a lot of people going through the same thing, let’s dive into what we can ALL do to get an engagement boost. Ask For EngagementThis may seem like a crazy question, but are you telling people how to interact with your posts? What you may think is intuitive, your audience may not. >>You can’t get what you don’t ask for.<< If you want engagement, you have to ask for it… And not simply “leave a comment” or “tag a friend.” *Oh no, sweet soul, you are more creative than that!* You need to mix up your calls to action to see what is actually resonating with people. Keep reading to find some engaging prompt examples! Big vs Small AskThere are two different calls to action:
A big ask requires someone to leave the platform they are on and go somewhere else. It takes more effort, and not everyone will be inclined to do it. Examples of a big ask:
All of these are wonderful sources of value you are offering, but it takes them away from the social platform they are comfortable with. They need to reallllllly know, like, and trust you to act on the action you want them to do. But a small ask is much easier. It doesn’t require anyone to leave the platform, and it doesn’t take a lot of brain power to answer the call. Examples of a small ask:
>>You will likely notice that you get more engagement when you ask for it in small, simple ways.<< That’s not to say that you should never ask anyone to leave social media. *After all, you are running a business, hunnayyy!* But when you make it easy for someone to talk back to you, you’ll be surprised how chatty your audience can be! Give EngagementIf you are complaining about people not engaging with your posts, the question I put back to you is this: >>Are you giving the engagement you want to receive?<<
You won’t get what you don’t give. You have to model what you want your followers to do. Give, give, give, give (and then give some more) before you ever hope that it’s reciprocated. Quality Over QuantityYou might not get a lot of people who engage with your posts, but I am telling you, that small group of people who are willing to leave comments, share your posts, and vote on polls? Those are YOUR people. And that connection between you is going to be what moves the needle in your business. But I don’t want this to be something that overwhelms you, Buttercup. If you feel like you need more help getting AND giving engagement, I am here to hold your hand and walk you through it day by day! When you join Social Curator, you’ll receive 30 caption templates every month (and so much more). Each of these caption templates are specifically formulated to get your audience engaging with your content! No need to ever worry what call to action to use again… I got you, friend!
